Easy Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore Recipe

 

Give an Italian treatment to chicken with this easy slow cooker recipie.  A zesty tomato sauce that is great over spaghetti or any pasta.  This easy crock pot recipe is great for company because it gives you more time to spend with guests.  Toss a green salad, throw some rolls in the oven and you are ready to eat! 

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 1-1/2 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil (or any cooking oil you have on hand)
  • 1 jar (26 ounces) of your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cans (4 ounces each) sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

In a skillet, brown chicken in oil on both sides.  Transfer to your crock pot.  In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; pour over the chicken.  Cover and cook on low for 4 - 5 hours or until chicken juices run clear.  Serve with hot cooked spaghetti or pasta of your choice.
